Amigos Restaurant opens in Waterkloof Corner

Customers, suppliers, media, friends and family came together on 25th April to celebrate the launch of Amigos Restaurant in Waterkloof Corner, a new Mexican Mediterranean style Restaurant in Pretoria.

The Amigos concept is about bringing together the best dishes from countries around the world that use the word Amigo which means “friends” in Portugal and Spain. Amigo is also used in most of the Latin American and Mediterranean countries and flavours from these countries are the inspiration for many dishes on the menu. The menu features a strong Mexican influence with a bright, fun decor and a “Mexican” vibe.

The owners, Burger and Suralda van Zyl, have a strong background in the restaurant industry and are excited about Amigo’s future potential. The duo, together with shareholder Tony Ferreira, look forward to securing loyal patrons from the adjacent office parks, households and nearby institutions.

Burger van Zyl comments: “We have created the perfect space to celebrate friendship and food amongst friends, colleagues and family in a Mediterranean Mexican style offering.

We are confident that once a person has experienced Amigos, they will no doubt return frequently to relish in all our offerings! We offer a wide variety of experiences, from a quick breakfast before work, to our scrumptious buffet lunch, grabbing a quick afternoon detox juice, through to our daily specials such as our His and Hers Paella and Pichana Special on Thursday evenings. We also offer live music on Saturdays.”

Amigos is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and even has banting options for those who would prefer. This Mexican spot also boasts delicious coffee for that early morning pick-me-up, an Express Food Counter – perfect for lunch in-between meetings, and cocktails and draft beers for those after work drinks.

Amigos offers catering to businesses and homes for any size occasion and have also introduced a unique, hassle-free dinner concept. Customers can simply drop off their empty cooking dish before work, choose their filling and collect a little later in the day for a healthy, convenient family dinner.
