The Inaugural Fourways Craft Beer Festival

Fourways Craft Beer FestivalJohannesburg is a rapidly evolving metropolis and while it has for a long time stood proud as South Africa’s commercial capital, bustling with businesses and people in suits, it’s only recently that the ‘City if Gold’ (as it is often referred as) has come into its own as a legitimate lifestyle destination. The myriad restaurants, design pockets, markets and more which keep popping up definitely support the theory!
One of the latest crazes to hit Jozi is craft beer. In a move towards down-to-earth eating and away from mass-production, craft beer epitomises the latest trends in the food and lifestyle world. Being the first of its kind in Johannesburg, the Fourways Craft Beer Festival is truly a pioneering lifestyle event you’ll want to be part of.
Fourways Craft Beer Festival
The inaugural Fourways Craft Beer Festival is hosted by the Outer Limits restaurant. Situated in Broadacres, just outside of Fourways in the far north of Johannesburg, the restaurant’s lawn will be transformed into an exciting display of beers from across the country. In total over 50 types on craft beers will be available for tasting and buying, including alcoholic, non-alcoholic and flavoured brews. The best part though, is that the craftsmen (and women) themselves will be there in person to discuss their produce.
To accompany the beers will be an equally impressive variety of slow-food stalls, offering delicious, unique and healthy foods. Furthermore, a stellar line-up of DJ’s, a dress-up photo booth and a beach bar, complete with sand will each add a unique element of fun to ensure that everyone leaves feeling super stoked on life!
A fully equipped and serviced kiddie’s playground will be available for those not quite old enough to appreciate the finest in craft beer. There will be a sand pit and mini-beach for children of all ages.
South Africa has some great breweries which many folks don’t know about. Join us for a great weekend out in Fourways where we will be showcasing 11 Breweries with more than 40 ales, ciders and many other interesting beer types.
