Quay Four eagerly awaits the Oyster Festival this year!

QuayFourOyster2Festival012Quay Four Knysna is gearing up for the 2012 Pick ‘n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival and they are expecting this year to be their best Oyster Festival yet!

With a strong entertainment line-up, oyster specials and innovations as well as a Bedouin tent over the deck for when the weather doesn’t play along and an outside marquee for beer drinking and live bands – Quay Four is geared up and ready for the rush of excited oyster lovers this year!

Their biggest event during the festival will be hosting the unofficial South African Breweries Oyster Festival After-Party on the 14th of July with Robin Auld and Wendy Oldfield playing from 7pm, followed by DJ Wendy O to get the dance floor started.

Quay Four is once again listed amongst Tabasco’s “Oyster Hotspots” and their specials and creations offered include:

– Wild: 6 x Cocktail Wild for R40.00, 12 X Cocktail Wild for R75.00, 18 x Cocktail Wild for R99

– Cultivated: 6 x Cultivated Cocktail for R59.00, 12 x Cultivated Cocktail for R110.00

– Oyster Shooters: Noisy Oyster (Served under Gold Tequila, prepared with Tabasco, Salt & Lemon) R20.00, Oyster Tini (Apple Sours and Vodka with oyster) R20.00

The marquee, adjacent to Quay Four will be up from the 4th to the 15th of July. Cornell Neethling the general manager explains: “Depending on the weather, we would like to try and have most of our performances in the marquee, but if the weather conditions are really bad we will use our inside stage as an alternative. We will have a band performing and entertaining the crowds every day at 1pm and at 7pm.” Please see their line-up for Oyster Festival below. As mentioned the marquee tent will be used as a venue for live music and will form part of their daily operations to provide extra seating for their customer, it will also include a cash bar.

Expect a Captain’s Table on the outside deck, theater performance oyster shuckers, a warm fireplace to create that extra cozy atmosphere and promo shooter girls throughout the festival. Most importantly their innovative Tuk-Tuk Oyster Delivery Service will be running around town with “emergency” oyster deliveries throughout the festival and onwards.

**Please note Quay Four will not be taking any bookings during the Oyster Festival as it would not be fair to the vast majority of customers just walking in.
