Barracudas in Fish Hoek, will be hosting a “showcase” dinner on Wednesday, December 5 to raise funds for the Guide Dog Association. The association,which trains and provides guide dogs to the visually impaired, paraplegic and people in general who need the assistance of a guide dog, is in need of support to enable it to provide these beloved best friends to those in need.

Dawn November Baatjes (head chef, Barracudas), supported by Wesley Peters from Zevenwacht Restaurant, will be showcasing their culinary skills from a satellite kitchen inside the restaurant. Patrons will be able to view the chefs in action on screens around the venue.

The dinner consists of three courses, each paired with a tasting glass of wine. Selected items will be raffled off to help raise funds. A 2013 Guide Dog Association calendar will also be on sale.

Diners will also be in the company of a celebrity guest Para Olympic silver medallist Hendri Herbst. The proceedings of the evening will be emceed by Barry Blomkamp. Tickets are R120 a person, with a percentage going to the Guide Dog Association.
