The Terrace restaurant at Fairlawns Boutique Hotel & Spa is famous not only for it’s fine dining, but also for the spectacular views and outdoor seating that allows patrons to feel they are in the country. Lazy Sunday brunches vie for glamorous candle light dinners whilst lunch is shared between the professional and those wishing to take a break during their day.
Sounds idyllic right? Well now this award-winning establishment (includes accolades from TripAdvisor, Diamond Diners Club Wine List and World Luxury Hotel) has added another powerful asset to its offering. It comes in the form of the new Victoria Tea Lounge and the Private Villa Residence. Both are part of the hotel’s 2014 expansion plan.
Says Michael Kewley, managing director of the hotel: “We have plenty of improvements taking place this year and our newly opened Private Villa Residence is already receiving bookings for guests wishing to travel with their families or simply in need of a private residence during their visit to Johannesburg.”
The Private Villa Residence is completely self-sufficient, with décor that reflects the elegance and grace, with a modern twist of course, that is characteristic of Fairlawns. With the new additions, there are now 43 suites at the hotel, each with its own unique charm.
The Victoria Tea Lounge is ideally situated overlooking the romantic gardens, offering delicacies and delicious cakes created by Executive Chef Keith Frisley and his creative team to satisfy the most discerning high-tea aficionado. The current favourites include the Loose Tea Journey paired with the decadent chocolate torte.
Says Kewley: “A further attraction to Fairlawns is our newly launched Breakfast Table and the weekend Champagne and sparkling wine breakfasts available in our ever-popular Terrace Restaurant, which is proving very popular with in-house guests as well as locals wanting to savour a leisurely breakfast to de-stress on the weekend.”
The Fairlawns breakfast partners on weekends include Krone Borialis for bubbly, whilst the Bloody Mary Station at breakfast is proving a hit with diners. Special Fairlawns-produced breakfast treats include granola and breakfast crunchies, complemented by classic strawberries, the best of the locally produced cheeses, salmon three-ways (salmon roses, salmon tartar and salmon roulade) with capers and dill.
Nestled in the lush suburb of Morningside Manor, Sandton, Fairlawns Boutique Hotel & Spa is recognized as one of the most beautiful, romantic and exclusive hotels in South Africa, and the fine-dining, breakfast and tea-time options reflect this excellently.
