The Caviar group of restaurants, which currently consists of Beluga, Greenpoint in Cape Town, and Beluga, Gateway in Durban, among others, is as the title suggests, taking a leap into the unknown and expanding their successful brand to Gauteng. Within the next 2 months, not one but 2 exciting new and, most importantly, chic Beluga restaurants will be throwing open their doors to customers in Pretoria and Johannesburg.
Both boast the sleek décor with which Beluga has come to be associated, as well as comfortable and spacious indoor and outdoor eating areas. Think double volume spaces designed from scratch, with dark wood panelling and soft textures. Rhodesian teak is a feature of both stores’ décor as is polished marble and bronze.
The menus are no less impressive. Having started out as a fine-dining eatery, the Beluga menu has grown to include sushi, dim sum, a la carte, wine and cocktail menus – all legendary in their own right. The ingredients, which include lamb, beef, poultry, seafood and vegetables are guaranteed to be fresh and locally sourced, contributing to the promising package which is Beluga. Furthermore, in addition to the current menu, the expansion of the Caviar group’s brand means that their development kitchen will have even more opportunities to experiment and produce delectable new dishes.
Prompted by the success of Beluga in Cape Town and Durban, according to the group spokesman, it seemed a natural progression to expand the brand and take advantage of the hungry markets in the interior. To this end they will be opening 2 new eateries.
Where?
Both of the new eateries are being designed and built from scratch in brand new building developments.
- Club Retail Centre, Pretoria: This development is located in Hazelwood (Waterkloof), Pretoria, right opposite the Pretoria Country Club. The New York City loft-style of the eatery provides a trendy but comfortable vibe while the outside area boasts great views of Pretoria.
Waterfall City, Waterfall, Midrand: Waterfall City is a massive development which will include a hotel, residential estate, shopping centre and more, just 15 minutes from Sandton. The eatery, like at Club, will have classy eating and drinking areas for the bar, sushi bar and general dining areas, divided by low, unobtrusive walls.
In both instances you can expect a safe and convenient location.
When?
- Beluga, Waterfall City (Johannesburg) opens its doors on the 27 March 2014
Beluga, Club (Pretoria) opens its doors on the 20 April 2014
