Cellarmaster Karl Lambour and Chef Darren Badenhorst of Grand Provence team up with other esteemed cellars for a monthly Wine & Dine Collaboration starting on Friday the 22 August. Discover full blooded red blends at Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate in Franschhoek..
Other winemakers involved in the collaboration include Miles Mossop of Miles Mossop Wines, Gavin Bruwer Slabbert of Raats Family Vineyards and Sebastian Beaumont of Beaumont Wines.
“Crafting a red blend that is bigger than the sum of its parts is nothing short of mastery and we are privileged to share some of the Cape’s finest examples along with our own The Grande Provence 2011,” says Karl Lambour, Cellarmaster at Grande Provence.
Star wines for the evening will be the Grande Provence flagship, the Miles Mossop Max 2010, Beaumont Vitruvian 2011 and Raats Family Red Jasper 2013.
“We hope that the evening will give guests a better understanding of how different winemaking philosophies and blending practices can influence the taste and overall quality of a wine,” Karl adds.
To complement these fine wines, Grande Provence Chef Darren Badenhorst has crafted an impressive six-course menu to match each of the decadent reds. “I have enjoyed the challenge of designing a menu for these exceptional blends,” says Darren.
The Wine & Dine collaboration dinner is taking place at The Restaurant at Grand Provence on Friday, 22 August 2014, starting at 19h00. To book your seat at R495 per person, contact Grand Provence
